With the proliferation of social media and other online platforms, the spread of mis- and dis-information has become an ever-increasing problem. The spread of mis- and dis-information can have a number of negative consequences, including damage to reputation, harm to individuals and society, and undermining of democratic processes and institutions. Understanding the problem in all its facets and extents entails considering the specific political and cultural contexts, and rests significantly on functional access to platform data. This conference is intended to provide a forum for scholars, researchers, and practitioners from diverse disciplines to share insights and perspectives on current trends in disinformation research.
